In good condition with very light signs of age and original pinholes to the corners of the paper, made by the artist.
Framed in a reconditioned 1970s/80s wooden frame which has light wear and marks, but is in very good condition.
Mounted in conservation standard board
This charming sketch, in red chalk, from 1987 exemplifies Weschke’s very human sense of the mutual understanding that can exist in a couple. The effect is immediate – no ambiguity or allegory – we are simply being allowed to share a scene of affectionate and lighthearted intimacy. Weschke will have kept this drawing because it was intuitively right – just right.
