The Baguette Press is very excited to be reproducing three of Rena Gardiner’s holiday diaries, from the 1960s. The first of these beautifully illustrated diaries we can offer, is the 1962 book. You can also get your hands on matching stationery and cards. The first edition of the paperback rolled off the press in October 2022 and the hardback special edition is available to pre-order, with estimated shipping time of early January 2023.

Reproducing Rena’s distinctive work is always a challenge but this book does capture a sense of both her vibrant colour and her pictorial verve; something that the double page spreads are particularly good at conveying. Reproducing the diary at it’s original size, 25.5 x 31.5cm, (10 x just over 12 inches in 1962 speak), was a brave decision that only enhances this.
