c.1934 V.E. White
Edition Number: N/A
Mounted and Framed
A fab original watercolour and ink draft design for a front cover of Film Review magazine. This is to advertise Alfred Hitchcock’s 1934 film starring Peter Lorre and not the later film, which had a completely different plot.
This artwork has been lightly cleaned, with a little gum arabic added, to bring out some of the highlights. There are some very small creases at the top of the paper, but these aren’t too obvoius once framed and don’t detract from the image. It has been mounted using conservation quality mount board and is framed in a 1950s/60s frame. The frame is white with specs of grey / silver showing.

The frame is restored and as such has some very light signs of wear. In excellent condition for age though and although it is from a couple of decades later than the artwork, it looks very nice 🙂
