A stunning screenprint with the full title Paris February 12th 1894. Emile Henry throws a bomb inside the Cafe Terminus, rue St Lazare, by Flavio Costantini. Costantini frequently represented the work of anarchists and anarchic acts and published a book, The Art of Anarchy. There is a pdf of the book on the libcom.org website and this print is featured as work number 25 on page 31.

The print is in Costantini’s usual flat style, with vibrant gold, red and deep purple inks decorating the cafe’s interior that Emile Henry saw as inhabited by the bourgeoisie. Emile Henry was guillotined in Paris on the 21st May 1894 for this anarchic act. He proudly accepted the charges against him and was completely explicit about his intent: “there are no innocent bourgeois.”
