Float mounted and framed in excellent condition. The frame is reconditioned and shows light wear.
This unique picture of the Fire-eater is the original artwork for the limited edition of 200 prints published by Tate St Ives. It is a charcoal and mixed-media drawing on thick paper and is inscribed “template for etching” on the back.
The Fire Eater is an etching of the subject which formed the lead image for his major solo exhibition at Tate St Ives in 2004 Beneath Black Sky – paintings and drawings 1953 – 2004.
