Virginia Powell is a printmaker, who studied at Chelsea Art School in the late 1950s – early 1960s. She has an interest in drawing and illustrating food related items and locations.
Her work of the early 2000s focussed on people at work as subject matter: the operating theatre at Chelsea and Westminster Hospital, and Brixton and Billingsgate markets.
She has work in the Museum of London and the British Council among many institutions in the UK. In the early 2000s, she worked on illustrations for the Loch Fyne chain of restaurants and had work on show in many branches.
