Kikuo Gosho (b.1943)

Kikuo Gosho (b.1943) is a Japanese printmaker, working mostly with woodblock printing. He belongs to the sosaku hanga print movement, where the artist tends to design, carve and publish the artworks themselves. Traditional Japanese woodblock printing wood be a collaboration between an artist, carver and printer. Gosho is also well-known for producing hand-made barens, the tool used for rubbing the printing paper over the woodblocks.
