1970. John Miles
Edition Number: 1/6
Supplied mounted on conservation quality mount-board and framed.
Classy woodcut of the first stanza from the poem The Passionate Man’s Pilgrimage by Sir Walter Ralegh (sometimes spelt Raleigh). In excellent condition following some light conservation work, this original woodcut print framed in a reconditioned modern frame. The frame has some light wear here and there, but is in good condition and is ready to hang.
The Poetry Foundation website has a good page of basic background information on Walter. We haven’t been able to find anything out about the artist who created the woodcut, but it’s a skilled piece of typography and printing.
