Mare and Foal School Print

Price includes UK shipping.

1945, John R Skeaping

Edition Number: n/a
Unsigned with printed title and other details.
Supplied mounted on conservation standard mount-board and framed.

Mare and Foal is a School Print (SP1) from 1945 by John Skeaping (1901 – 1980). John Rattenbury Skeaping, RA was an English sculptor and equine painter. He designed animal figures for Wedgwood and his life-size statue of Secretariat is exhibited at the National Museum of Racing and Hall of Fame.

The condition of the print is good. It has some acid discolouration damage from previous framing, but this has been treated and minimised. There is a thin line of discolouration around the margin of the image, but this has been mounted out of the visible image. A false border of Japanese paper has been added to allow for maximum display within the window mount. The frame has some small chips but is in sound condition.
