Moody take on a Dorset landscape in this 1960s lithograph from Don Bessant (British, 1941-1993).

Bessant was born in Gillingham, Kent. In 1961 he gained a scholarship to the Royal College of Art, London. He worked as a Visiting Lecturer in Printmaking at St Martin’s School of Art and Maidstone College of Art into the early 1970’s. During this period he was in a long-term relationship with actress Julie Christie.
In 1972 Don became a Visiting Lecturer in Printmaking at Wolverhampton College of Art where he taught until his death in 1993.  Between 1973 – 1975, Don also printed lithographs for Editions Alecto at Alecto Studio, and in the 1970’s and 1980’s assisted Alan Cox of Sky Editions, Butlers Wharf, as a plate and stone printer. 
Artwork Condition: In excellent condition having had a light conservation clean. It is printed on thin paper.
Framing: Framed using conservation standard mount-board. The wooden frame is reconditioned and has some light wear, and a couple of small gaps in the corners. Ready to hang.
