Gabriel Pippet (1880 – 1962) was an artist, illustrator and wood carver. He has designed interior decoration of a number of churches including wood carvings and mosaics. He has illustrated a number of religious books and scripts. In this wood engraving of a sea bather, the inclusion of the birds suggest a story or myth is the inspiration for the image. Perhaps most notably, the style shows an influence of the Pre-Raphaelites, and the Arts and Crafts movement.

Artwork Condition: Good condition.

Framing: Supplied mounted on conservation quality mount-board and framed. Framed in a modern refurbished thin black frame. The frame shows some wear, but is in good condition and ready to hang.
