These traditional woodblock prints have been estimated as being from the late 1800s. The prints are part of a series of depicting birds, fish and insects, and is printed on traditional Japanese paper. The crease down the centres does not detract from the image, once in the frame. They are framed to match the other prints from the series. These two just looked good together.

The frame is restored and as such has some imperfections. However, the thin black design with gold inset, suits this series of prints very nicely 🙂
