Denis Stéen (b.1929) was educated at Varlands Konsthogskola (Royal Institute of Art), Gothenburg, between 1952 and 1956. He has had solo shows in Sweden almost annually since 1957, and solo shows in Berlin and Wuppertal (1966), Bern (1980, 1985, 1991, 1997), Rostock (1984) and Schwetzingen (1997). He has participated in over 140 group shows, 80 of them overseas from his native Sweden. Hi work is in the National Museum, Stockholm and galleries of Oslo, Minneapolis, Fribourg, Rostock and many more. His later work of the 1980s and 1990s is often wood engraving, and mostly abstract.
Supplied mounted with conservation standard mount-board and framed in a reconditioned wooden frame. The thin frame has some wear and age, but suits this dramatic etching very nicely. The print is in good condition having had a light conservation clean. It’s ready to hang on your wall.
